چکیده

Abstract Palmer amaranth is the most problematic and troublesome weed in agronomic cropping systems United States. Acetolactate synthase (ALS) inhibitor glyphosate-resistant (GR) has been confirmed Nebraska it widespread several counties. Soybean resistant to isoxaflutole/glufosinate/glyphosate developed that provides additional herbicide site of action for control herbicide-resistant weeds. The objectives this study were evaluate programs ALS inhibitor/GR their effect on density biomass, as well soybean injury yield isoxaflutole/glufosinate/glyphosate–resistant soybean. Field experiments conducted a grower’s field infested with GR near Carleton, Nebraska, 2018 2019. Isoxaflutole applied alone or mixed sulfentrazone/pyroxasulfone, flumioxazin/pyroxasulfone, imazethapyr/saflufenacil/pyroxasulfone provided similar (86%–99%) 21 d after PRE (DAPRE). At 14 early-POST (DAEPOST), isoxaflutole followed by (fb) POST controlled 10% 63% compared 75% 96% glufosinate EPOST both years. A fb 80% 99% late-POST (DALPOST) 2018, reduced 89% 100% 58% 2019 at DAEPOST. No was observed from any tested study. relatively higher due precipitation generally no differences between programs. This research indicates are available effective isoxaflutole/glufosinate/glyphosate-resistant

Glyphosate-resistant Palmer amaranth: A threat to conservation tillage

Conservation tillage reduces the physical movement of soil to the minimum required for crop establishment and production. When consistently practiced as a soil and crop management system, it greatly reduces soil erosion and is recognized for the potential to improve soil quality and water conservation and plant available water. Adoption of conservation tillage increased dramatically with the ad...

Protein trans-splicing to produce herbicide-resistant acetolactate synthase.

Protein splicing in trans has been demonstrated both in vivo and in vitro by biochemical and immunological analyses, but in vivo production of a functional protein by trans-splicing has not been reported previously. In this study, we used the DnaE intein from Synechocystis sp. strain PCC6803, which presumably reconstitutes functional DnaE protein by trans-splicing in vivo, to produce functional...

PEST MANAGEMENT: WEEDS Control Options for Acetolactate Synthase- Resistant Smallflower Umbrella Sedge in Arkansas Rice

Smallflower umbrella sedge is an increasingly problematic weed in direct-seeded rice in Arkansas. Recently, a sample collected from an Arkansas rice field was confirmed resistant to halosulfuron (Permit). Studies were conducted to determine the effectiveness of various acetolactate synthase (ALS)-inhibiting herbicides on control of the resistant biotype relative to a susceptible biotype and to ...

Control of Herbicide-resistant Volunteer Corn in Herbicide-resistant Soybean

Glyphosate-resistant corn and soybean are grown in rotations in the Midwest, including Nebraska. Volunteer corn is a problematic weed in soybean fields because it causes harvest problems, reduces yield and seed quality, and potentially harbors insects, pests, and diseases. Several pre-packaged herbicides have been registered in soybean in recent years, but response of volunteer corn to these he...

Overlapping Residual Herbicides for Control of Photosystem (PS) II- and 4-Hydroxyphenylpyruvate Dioxygenase (HPPD)-Inhibitor-Resistant Palmer amaranth (Amaranthus palmeri S. Watson) in Glyphosate-Resistant Maize

A Palmer amaranth (Amaranthus palmeri S. Watson) biotype has evolved resistance to photosystem (PS) II- (atrazine) and 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD)-inhibiting herbicides (mesotrione, tembotrione, and topramezone) in maize seed production field in Nebraska, USA. The objectives of this study were to determine the effect of soil residual pre-emergence (PRE) herbicides followed by (fb...
